Dr. Krista Prowse Welch is originally from Newfoundland. She graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Science in 1992. From a young age, she always enjoyed an active lifestyle, including tennis, basketball, skiing and biking. Over the years, some injuries ensued. She first experienced chiropractic care at the age of 19, following a ski accident. Her ability to resume an active lifestyle, with the aid of chiropractic care, sparked her interest in the profession. Dr. Prowse Welch graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 1997.

She has been providing chiropractic care to people of all ages for over 25 years. She has a special interest in treating neck pain and headaches, possibly from her own experiences. Dr. Prowse Welch also sees a lot of mid back and lower back pain in her daily practice. She treats women for pregnancy related back pain, both before and after delivery. Some other common reasons people present for treatment in her clinic include injuries from sports activities, motor vehicle accidents, and work related injuries, both heavy lifting and sedentary in nature.

Dr. Prowse Welch is currently a professional member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors. In previous years she served on the executive for the Newfoundland and Labrador Chiropractic Association, and also developed Back Injury Prevention Programs with the Newfoundland and Labrador Safety Council.

Dr. Prowse Welch has called Halifax ‘home’ for many years and enjoys the province’s weather and amenities that facilitate an active lifestyle. In her spare time, she enjoys time spent with her husband and two children, playing tennis, ocean swimming at Nova Scotia’s many beaches, skiing, and biking. She also loves to cook, visit with friends and relax with a good book!
